Using Brew Lab for Android
Get started
Add beans or brew without selecting a bean. Choose a recipe, check the dose and ratio, then start the timer. Saving a brew deducts the beans used. Recording taste lets you review the next suggested adjustment.
Free and Plus
The timer, bean cellar, brew records and suggestions remain free. Save three custom recipes without Plus. Plus is a one-time purchase for unlimited custom recipes, comparisons, freezer tracking, all-history charts and stock forecasts.
Purchases use Google Play. After changing devices, sign in to Google Play with the account used for the purchase and choose Restore Purchases in the app. Plus purchased on iOS does not transfer.
Backup and deletion
Export beans and brews as CSV, or export a JSON backup from Settings. Restoring JSON replaces your current beans, records, recipes and settings, so save the current data first. Photos are not included in JSON backups. CSV is an export for viewing records, not a restoration backup.
Automatic app backup is disabled. Export important records and keep the files yourself. Exported files remain at their destination after the app is removed. To remove all on-device app data, clear its storage in Android settings or uninstall it.
Plus demo
Open Settings > Open Plus demo to use all Plus features with separate demo data. The public demo is free for everyone, with no account, purchase, code or time limit. Demo records, photos and settings survive restart. Exit demo returns to your personal data; an active demo brew can be cancelled after confirmation. Demo JSON backups can only be restored inside the demo and cannot replace personal data.
Timer and suggestions
The ongoing notification helps you check pours while away from the app. Finish or cancel the brew to stop the timer. Taste suggestions, freshness estimates and restock forecasts are guides based on your inputs and do not guarantee taste or freshness. Entering TDS requires a separate refractometer.
